How do I put pictures on The GrandCare TV Communication Station?

Once you have logged into the system, open up the Television Operations Page. Click on "picture wizard". You will choose a folder to add your picture(s) to or create a new folder. You can upload one or multiple pictures from your computer. Once uploaded, the pictures will automatically be displayed on the loved one's GC Communication Station.

How do I add captions to the pictures shown on the GrandCare Communication Station?

In the Television Operations Page, click on the folder containing the picture. Select "Show/Rename pictures in picture folder...". You can add or edit any picture caption within the folder.

I purchased a GrandCare package last year, but would now like to add a few more sensors. Is this easy to do?

Yes. You can add sensors to your GrandCare System at any time. Make sure to check back on our website and help forums for new sensor options.

What if I don't answer the GrandCare Alert Call?

When GrandCare Systems makes a call, the receiver has to push "1" to acknowledge the message. If the call is not confirmed, GrandCare Systems will try the call one more time. If a call-out list is selected, GrandCare will then move on to additional numbers/contacts in the call-out list.

My mother uses email. Can she still benefit from GrandCare?

Absolutely. GrandCare is a perfect fit for individuals who are capable of living a normal, independent life. GrandCare can provide caregivers and loved ones alike with "peace of mind", cognitive boosts, social enhancement & virtual togetherness. GrandCare TV is a fun way to display a family & friend photo album with personal notes, calendar events and reminders right on her TV.

What if my cell phone cuts out when an alert call comes in?

Each incoming call must be acknowledged by pressing "1" at the end of the message. If you are unable to complete the acknowledgement, GrandCare can continue trying the next number on the call-out list (if a call-out list is chosen for the rule).

Can I choose how I want to be alerted by GrandCare Systems.

Yes. You can choose to be alerted by phone, email, text message, dashboard alert or all of the above.

What happens if my loved one's Internet Connection goes down?

GrandCare regularly checks in to make sure there is live communication with the GrandCare box in your loved one's home. If there is no connection found, the primary caregiver and dealer (if applicable) will be alerted.

Where should I put the motion detectors?

Motion Detectors should be placed in areas you would like to monitor. A detector might be placed at the bedside to record wake-up times or in a medicine cabinet, refrigerator, outside garden, living area, meal preparation area, etc. There are many possibilities, depending on which aspects of daily living are important to note.
